'Fighting Spirit', SEKISUI Specialty Chemicals' running team, recently completed the 2020 Houston Marathon. The Pasadena based team has been practicing for months, logging thousands of miles in preparation for this year's race. The team has grown over the past three years- these dedicated runners inspire other employees to set new goals and join the SEKISUI Fighting Spirit Team.

A pair of Murray State University students had the opportunity to study abroad in Japan this summer with the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) Japan Program, thanks to a scholarship generously funded by Sekisui Specialty Chemicals. Now in its eighth year, the Sekisui Scholarship has provided $40,000 to fund Murray State Education

Tarragona University Rovira I Virgili (URV), held a graduation ceremony for students from different chemistry related fields. 2019 graduates with a chemistry degree, a biochemistry & molecular biology degree, or a 5 year double degree in biotechnology and biochemistry & molecular biology were sponsored by Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe (SSCE) in honor of the company’s 10^th anniversary in Tarragona, Spain.

On June 7th, 2019, the Kentucky Labor Cabinet visited Calvert City, Kentucky to present Sekisui Specialty Chemicals America, LLC, with the Governor’s Safety and Health Award. This award signifies the achievement of 1,896,408 hours worked by Sekisui employees without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness. The Governor’s Safety and Health Award recognizes Kentucky’s employers and employees for outstanding safety and health performance in the workplace.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals (SSC) held its annual Global Business Conference from May 23-25^th in Frisco, Texas. Representatives from key departments such as finance, sales, marketing, legal, supply chain, compliance, and HR came together for the two and half day conference to discuss 2018 accomplishments and the upcoming goals for 2019.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe was honored to receive a visit from Professor Richard Schrock. Professor Schrock received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2005 for his work in the area of olefin metathesis, and has been a Professor of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for many years.
