Tokyo, January 26, 2021– SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. (President and Representative Director: Keita Kato; hereinafter, “SEKISUI CHEMICAL”) has been selected as one of the 2021 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World index (2021 Global 100). 2021 is the fourth consecutive and sixth time overall that SEKISUI CHEMICAL has been included in this index.
Global 100 is an index created and maintained by Canadian company, Corporate Knights Inc. It ranks major companies around the world from all sectors (8,080 companies in 2021), by looking at corporate sustainability performance from various perspectives such as environment, society, and governance (ESG), and selects the top 100 companies.
Global 100, announced annually at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (Davos Annual Meeting) held in Davos, Switzerland, was announced this year in the virtual CEO roundtable event held by Corporate Knights. SEKISUI CHEMICAL was recognized for achievements in multiple evaluation criteria this year, including clean revenue, clean investment, safety, and employee retention, and was ranked 51st, one of 5 companies from Japan to be selected.
In the current medium-term management plan “Drive 2022,” we have set “promoting ESG management which pursues both the sustainability of society and the sustainability of the Group, and building a corporate system that allows enhancement of corporate value” as a basic strategy.
