TOKYO–SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group has been selected as one of the 2019 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World (2019 Global 100). 2019 is the second consecutive and fourth time overall that SEKISUI CHEMICAL has been included in this index.
Global 100 is an index created and maintained by Canadian company, Corporate Knights Inc. It ranks major companies around the world from all sectors (approximately 7,500 companies in 2019), by looking at corporate sustainability performance from various perspectives such as environment, society, and governance (ESG), and selects the top 100 companies.
The 2019 Global 100 was announced at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (Davos Annual Meeting) held in Davos, Switzerland, from January 22 to 25. SEKISUI CHEMICAL was recognized for achievements in multiple evaluation criteria this year, including resource productivity, innovation capacity, safety, and employee retention and was one of 8 companies from Japan to be selected.
The SEKISUI CHEMICAL Group is working on its medium-term management plan “SHIFT 2019 -Fusion-” (FY 2017 to FY 2019) as the first step toward a new phase of growth. The “S” in SHIFT stands for sustainable, and the Group is pushing to establish a sustainable business base from the viewpoint of ESG.
