Sekisui Specialty Chemicals is proud to announce the relaunch of the Selvol Ultiloc series; a range of copolymers that expand on the functionality of industry trusted Selvol Polyvinyl Alcohol products. Previously, the Selvol Ultiloc brand represented copolymers sold into barrier film and flexible packaging applications. The relaunch of this series marks the expansion of product categories and the addition of several new copolymers to the range.

Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. It is a day to address common misconceptions about manufacturing and showcase what manufacturing really is.

This summer, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals’ Houston Technology Center (HTC) hosted two interns who participated in research activities focused on new product development. In order to complete their projects, interns read patents and designed and conducted experiments. At the end of their summer projects, the interns gave a final presentation to the team at HTC.

Sekisui Chemical Company is aiming to keep the overall volume of greenhouse gas emitted during manufacturing pegged to the fiscal 2013 level and reducing by 1% every year the amount of energy consumed per unit of output.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals Europe has made great progress minimizing the CO2 footprint of its Tarragona, Spain facility through reduced energy consumption at the plant. Currently, the main source of the plant’s CO2 footprint is the steam intake required to operate a natural gas boiler.

Dallas, September 26th 2017– In the wake of the September 19th earthquake in Mexico, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals would like to confirm that all employees at our Mexico City site are safe despite minor damage to the offices.

Dallas, August 30, 2017– Sekisui Specialty Chemicals would like to confirm that all of our employees are safe, and both of our Houston area facilities are undamaged as of August 30th. Our Pasadena plant was shut down on August 26th.

On Monday, May 15th, our Houston based team members had the opportunity to host 40 organic chemistry students from Dulles High School on a tour of our research and production facilities.

After three events in Asia, Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. brought its Children’s Eco Summit back to Europe. Co-hosted by Sekisui and the Global Nature Fund, the event took place from 4 to 6 September at Lake Constance, Germany. The Children’s Eco Summit, established in 2007 for the 60th anniversary of the company, offers children of the employees the opportunity to experience, learn and talk about the environment and nature.

Happy Star Wars Day! George Lucas’s space epic, Star Wars, has captured the curiosity of three generations of light saber swinging adults and children. One of our sister companies, Sekisui Heim, aired this ad featuring C-3PO and R2-D2 just in time for this year’s Star Wars Day.

April 30, 2015 – Sekisui Specialty Chemicals (SSC) was an exhibitor at last week’s PaperCon 2015. The annual conference was even larger this year due to TAPPI’s Centennial Celebration. The four day conference included an extra gala to commemorate the history of paper making and TAPPI’s long standing presence in the industry.

December 15, 2015 – Sample formulations highlighting Selvol Ultalux for hair color longevity and hair gel hold were highlighted at the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemist’s Annual Technology Showcase on December 13th. Over 2000 formulators and chemists attended the regional event.
